Before we review his music, let’s take a look at the relevance of the release date and title. To understand Wale’s music though, attentiveness and comprehension are something that you have to apply when listening (which we know is not a common attribute to the pill-popping ADHD embracing youths of today). With new era rap focusing on trap beats and ass shaking, it makes sense that an artist whose lyrics and flows are more similar to spoken word, emotional poetry and confident bravado are misunderstood. Wale has been in the game since his first major album, Attention Deficit released in 2009. Well the 4x Platinum Recording music artist is not only misunderstood by people who don’t know him, he is misunderstood, underrated and underappreciated by a good amount of people intertwined in hip-hop culture.
